West Ham are one of eight clubs competing to sign Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher on loan, according to the Northern Echo.
The local newspaper claims that the Hammers, along with Crystal Palace and Newcastle, are among the names competing for the 20-year-old, who will be available this summer.
Most supporters on Twitter think a move for Gallagher would be a good idea:
Conor Gallagher looked superb at Swansea – looks a quality player with huge potential. A season-long loan signing of Gallagher would be a great addition to the West Ham squad next season.

I’d take him no doubt looked good at Swansea

Please no to loan – if we want him then pay for him. Why should we help Chelsea out plus what incentive does the kid have if he knows he is back to Chelsea no matter what. Only loans should be with view to transfer at end of season (like Soucek).

Anyway West ham should sign Eze, Watkins and loan Gallagher from Chelsea 🙂

The Blues are looking to send the midfielder out on loan to a Premier League team this summer after he spent two spells at Championship clubs last campaign.
With there being very little chance of Gallagher getting first-team football at Stamford Bridge next season, the player will likely be open to another temporary switch as well.
Having been born in Epsom, it is thought the midfielder would also prefer to stay in London so West Ham will be one of the favourites to sign him. We will have to wait and see how the situation develops over the coming weeks.
