Earlier in the day, it was reported that a ‘top six’ Premier League team had offered the former Spanish international a contract until the end of the season.

With the Hammers needing a forward after selling Sebastien Haller to Ajax earlier in the transfer window, it got some supporters thinking that Costa could be on his way to the London Stadium.

However, that appears not to be the case, with many journalists claiming that the London club are done in terms of incomings ahead of the deadline tonight.

That will come as a massive disappointment to West Ham fans who were expecting the Irons to strengthen up front, considering the lack of options currently available to manager David Moyes.
