ExWHUemployee Addresses Speculation That West Ham Could Enter 25M Battle With Chelsea And Newcastle

West Ham manager David Moyes has not yet decided whether to make a move for Everton left-back Lucas Digne, according to ExWHUemployee.

Speaking on the West Ham Way podcast, the insider source said that the Hammers boss is looking to strengthen his options on the left-hand side of defence but there may be other priorities in the January transfer window:

“There are long term plans to sign a left-back and avenues have been explored but the question is whether Digne will entice Moyes to move before then with other positions more of a priority.”

Digne is reportedly available for £25m after falling out with Toffees manager Rafa Benitez, but the defender is also being pursued by other Premier League clubs.

Newcastle are said to be willing to meet Everton’s valuation of the player, while Chelsea are believed to be considering whether to make a loan offer for the France international.

The European champions will be without Ben Chilwell for the rest of the season, after the 24-year-old picked up an ACL injury, so Digne is being eyed as a potential temporary replacement.

However, Everton are keen to sell the fullback outright, meaning West Ham could be in with a chance of securing his signature if they come up with the funds.
