Chelsea made one big move before the window slammed shut, signing Cole Palmer from Manchester City for around £42.5m. The Blues’ expenditure for the summer exceeded £400m.

Crystal Palace made a couple of late signings, recruiting Dean Henderson (Manchester United) for £20m, whilst they also brought in Rob Holding (Arsenal). Fulham decided to spend £22m on Everton’s Alex Iwobi which will raise a few eyebrows.
