‘Disgraceful’ ‘Typical Agents Work’ ‘Embarrassing’ West Ham Fans On Twitter Angry With Player Contract Dispute

West Ham fullback Jeremy Ngakia has rejected a new contract to stay with the Hammers, according to reports in the English media.

The Hammers wanted to extend the 19-year-old’s current scholarship for a further year to give themselves more time to negotiate a long-term deal.

However, Ngakia has subsequently decided that the contract on offer is not one befitting of a player who has broken into the first-team setup. There was some sympathy for the right-back on Twitter, who believe he deserves to be given a decent salary, but others were seething:

It is difficult to make a judgement whilst not knowing the ins and outs of the negotiations. Even so, it does seem as though West Ham have dropped the ball.

Ngakia is not said to be demanding a sizeable basic wage, but yet the London club have managed to make a mess of the whole situation. Hopefully, things can be resolved without them escalating further.
