West Ham have enquired about signing Jesse Lingard on a free transfer once his contract with Manchester United expires next month, according to reports in the UK.
The midfielder, who has been capped 32 times by England, had a successful loan spell at the London Stadium in 2021 and it appears manager David Moyes is keen on being reunited with the player.
Lingard was also pursued during the January transfer window, but the player stayed at Old Trafford, and supporters on Twitter are split on whether the 29-year-old should be brought back to the London club:
Deja vu of January window.

Lingard is said to have decided to leave United after being let down by previous managers promising him more game time. The arrival of Erik ten Hag is, therefore, unlikely to have an effect on his future.
Moyes is believed to be confident of persuading Lingard into returning to West Ham, but after two failed attempts to sign him on a permanent basis, some fans are right to be doubting whether the player is interested in the move.
