Declan Rice And Jesse Lingard Both Miss Out As Hammers Headlines’ Player Of The Season Is Revealed

West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek has been voted Hammers Headlines‘ Player of the Season by supporters. The 26-year-old won the poll convincingly, picking up 73.79% of the vote.

Despite an excellent season, which has seen him linked with moves to Manchester United and Chelsea, Declan Rice was only second with 13.59%, while Jesse Lingard finished third on 5.83%. Aaron Cresswell, Michail Antonio and Lukasz Fabianski were also nominated for the prize, and you can see the full list by pressing “view results” below:

Despite Rice and Lingard both playing vital roles in helping the Hammers secure a Europa League spot, Soucek has undoubtedly been the cream of the crop.

A lot of players in David Moyes’ side have played well above expectations this campaign but you can’t overlook the importance of Soucek’s contributions. 10 goals in 38 league appearances is extremely impressive; especially when you consider the fact he is ostensibly a holding midfield player.
