Chelsea Willing To Sacrifice Up To Three Players In Order To Raise Funds For West Ham Star

Chelsea are ready to make their move for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice in the January transfer window but they will only table a formal bid once they have sold some fringe players, according to reports in the UK.

Blues boss Frank Lampard is very keen to add the 21-year-old to his squad in the New Year but he is aware that the Hammers won’t let go of their player without a significant fee being paid.

It means Chelsea will look to sell the likes of Jorginho, Antonio Rudiger and Marcos Alonso, with it being hoped that at least two of them will be offloaded so they can fund their move for Rice.

Lampard’s side were unable to shift players to make a bid for Rice before the transfer window closed last month, and Irons supporters will be hoping that they will struggle to raise the money they need once more in January.
