Chelsea V West Ham – Preview, Predicted XI And Betting Odds

West Ham will want to put their wretched display against Everton behind them when they face Chelsea in a fiercely contested London derby on Monday night.

The 2-0 defeat to the Toffees could have been a lot worse and Hammers fans were rightly critical of the players’ attitude during the game.

They usually get themselves up for the big matches, though, and a trip to Stamford Bridge should be enough to get the team motivated to put in a better display.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini currently has eight players on the injury list with Marko Arnautovic the latest to be sidelined with a recurrence of a knee problem.

Felipe Anderson was sorely missed against Everton. The Brazilian was ruled out with an ankle injury and the player is still a doubt for Monday. Samir Nasri has also been sidelined with a calf strain.

Andy Carroll (ankle), Andriy Yarmolenko (Achilles) and Carlos Sanchez (knee) are expected to be out for the season, while doubts remain over Jack Wilshere’s fitness. Winston Reid is continuing his long recovery from a serious knee injury.

West Ham’s Predicted XI To Face Chelsea:

Fabianski, Fredericks, Balbuena, Diop, Cresswell, Antonio, Noble, Rice, Anderson, Lanzini, Hernandez

Chelsea will be sweating over the fitness of Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Manager Maurizio Sarri said that the 23-year-old had a tight hamstring against Brighton midweek, but he’s hoping it’s only cramp.

Marcos Alonso missed the win over the Seagulls with a similar issue but should be back fit to face the Hammers, while Pedro (knock) is likely to return as well. Ethan Ampadu (back) Marco van Ginkel (knee) remain out of action.

Chelsea’s Predicted XI:

Kepa, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz, Alonso, Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic, Hudson-Odoi, Giroud, Hazard

The bookmakers have Chelsea as firm favourites to get the three points. The Blues are 4/11 at Unibet with a draw 9/2 at Betway. A West Ham victory is 19/2 with BetVictor.
