Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas says today’s fixture between West Ham and Crystal Palace is a very difficult one to call due to how inconsistent both teams are.

The Hammers are coming off the back of a two-week break and won their last game against Southampton away from home, but Nicholas is not backing them to get the three points at Selhurst Park:

“This is the hardest Boxing Day fixture to call. West Ham can get an occasional result away from home but you cannot trust the pair of them, so it is another case of sitting on the fence.”

Nicholas has gone with a 1-1 draw in this one, but with West Ham’s form away from home, it really is hard to make an accurate prediction.

The Irons have won three, drawn three and lost three on the road this campaign, and while they have accrued more points away from the London Stadium, they are still not consistent enough.

Palace, meanwhile, also have the exact same record as West Ham at Selhurst Park this season, and this game could be very tight with one goal likely to prove pivotal.
