Carroll and Chicharito partnership has ‘potential’

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic has admitted he sees a lot of potential in the partnership between Andy Carroll and Javier Hernandez this season.

The Hammers possess two quality strikers in the duo, but they are yet to have a proper run of games together in the team. However the prospect of them both linking up is a frightening thought, with the aerial ability of Carroll and the pace of Chicharito a deadly combination.

“I see a lot of potential in that partnership. The key for us is like in one hand we want to get the stability and, if we are talking about conceding goals, then we have to be more stable and have a system with more players at the back.”

“But then at the end of the day if you want to get your players who are offensively good on the pitch, it’s not easy to find a system which you can have both in.”

“But that is the key and that is what we are looking for and if you’re asking me if I believe in that pair, of course.”

“It’s not only them though, we have other good strikers like Andre Ayew and Diafra Sakho. But do I see the potential in that? Yes I do.”

“My mindset is that we’re going into a battle every week with our group of lads and that we will emerge victorious.”

“For me, I have always said I will work hard for my team.”

“I want to give 110 per-cent for them so they know that this lad will give them everything.”

“That’s exactly what I have done so far and hopefully the fans and all of my team-mates can see that.”
