Supporters on Twitter are very happy with the update and are hoping that the Hammers officially announce the news very soon:
Brilliant news!
I’ve got to say though, that photo always makes me laugh as it looks like he’s being held hostage or something and been told to look happy!
Especially with the slight eye bandaging…— Steven McCarthy ? (@StevenMcCarthy9) 30 August 2019
Bloke has been immense in pre-season and the start of the season. Proper shut up all those moaning about him because he didn’t come back from a 9 month injury on top form. ⚒⚒

It's good news but contracts mean nothing in this day and age. 2 year deal or 5 year deal all means the same

Lanzini struggled at the back end of last season after his comeback from a knee injury. However, he has begun this campaign in style and has looked more like his old self.
The 26-year-old’s current deal expires at the end of the season and there were fears that he could leave the club for nothing next summer.
This reported breakthrough in talks will, therefore, come as a big relief to fans with the player expected to commit his best years to the club.
Since arriving from Al-Jazira in 2015, Lanzini has gone on to make 112 appearances for the Hammers, scoring 21 goals and providing 19 assists.
