West Ham defender Ben Johnson put in an excellent display as the Hammers secured a 3-0 win over Sheffield United at the London Stadium last night.
Hammers boss David Moyes selected the 21-year-old at left wingback and he didn’t let anyone down with his display. Fans on Twitter were delighted with the player’s performance after the game, with one even saying he has more potential than Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka:
Better then Saka tbh

Johnson has only played 16 games for West Ham so far, and supporters would be wise not to put too much pressure on the youngster, but he clearly has the temperament to play at first-team level.
Even playing out of position, the fullback put in a shift, protecting the left centre-back Aaron Cresswell, whilst progressing with the ball up the left flank when he could.
It remains to be seen whether Johnson can become a regular starter but he won’t have done himself any harm with his performance yesterday evening.
