Arsenal have set their “sights” on West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta, according to Fichajes.net.

The Spanish website, which is not known for its reliability, claims that the Gunners would be tempted to make a move for the Brazilian international if the Hammers are relegated.

David Moyes’s side are currently four points above the dropzone and, at this stage, they are not likely to fall back into relegation trouble. However, if they do, it appears Arsenal are waiting to pounce on Paqueta.

The 25-year-old only made the switch from Lyon, for a fee that could rise to £51m, eight months ago and he initially struggled to make an impact in the Premier League. His form has, though, improved in recent months.

Arsenal were tracking Paqueta even before he arrived at the London Stadium so their continued interest is not surprising, but West Ham will be hoping to keep hold of the player.
