West Ham have made an offer of £18m for Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes, according to reports in the English media.
The Portuguese international, who spent the season on loan at Everton, is reportedly available this summer.
Fans on Twitter believe Gomes would be an excellent addition to the squad:
If we get him that is an unreal signing

Been saying for MONTHS be unreal signing BUT £18 million seems way to cheap at that price be a lot of teams offering.. I think would be more like £28 mill..

While an ideal signing, can’t see it. Hugely linked to Spurs plus his price is at least £30m.

The Hammers are likely to face fierce competition for the 25-year-old with Everton and Tottenham said to be keen on securing the midfielder’s services.
Gomes made 29 appearances for the Toffees last season, scoring one goal and providing two assists.
Although his numbers don’t look too impressive, the Portuguese was a regular for Everton throughout the season, playing in central midfield alongside Idrissa Gueye.
With captain Mark Noble coming towards the end of his career, the prospect of Gomes playing in the same midfield as Declan Rice will certainly excite West Ham supporters.
Whether Barcelona accepts their first bid for the midfielder, we shall have to wait and see.
