Agent Reveals West Ham Starlet’s Ambition To Play For Bundesliga Giants

The agent of West Ham defender Reece Oxford has said the 20-year-old has ambitions of playing for Bayern Munich one day.

Oxford is currently on loan in Germany with Augsburg after joining before the close of the January transfer window. Aidy Ward has told the German media that the youngster would like to follow fellow Englishman, Owen Hargreaves, in playing for the Bundesliga giants:

“Reece is a big fan of Owen Hargreaves. He always thought it would be great to play for a club like Bayern one day.”

So far, the centre-back has made two appearances. His debut came as a last-minute substitute in the 3-0 win over Mainz last Sunday.

The England Under 20 international was given his first start during the week when he played the full 90 minutes of the German Cup tie against Holstein Kiel.

Oxford is now in his third loan spell in the Bundesliga after having two six-month stints at Borussia Monchengladbach last campaign.

Gladbach reportedly tried to sign the defender for €12m at the beginning of last month but the offer was turned down by the Hammers. The player has also been linked with Arsenal and Everton.
