Agent Reveals West Ham And Crystal Palace Are Keen On Free Transfer Swoop For Chelsea Ace

West Ham and Crystal Palace are both involved in the race to sign Olivier Giroud on a free transfer this summer, according to Vincenzo Morabito.

The agent, who has worked as an intermediary on a number of transfers, claims that the two Premier League teams, along with several Italian clubs, will look to snap up the Frenchman if he leaves Chelsea at the end of June:

“It’s also true that Chelsea would gladly keep [Giroud] and that there are clubs in England interested, such as Crystal Palace and West Ham. In short, he’s a player who has a big market and in Italy, for some reason, he has never managed to close [a deal].”

The Hammers have been linked on and off with Giroud over the past two years so it is not surprising that their name has been mentioned again, with the 34-year-old likely to become a free agent in the summer.

Manager David Moyes is looking for a forward and the former Arsenal striker would certainly fit the bill in terms of ability and suiting the team’s style of play.

There are, though, plenty of other candidates being considered, including Giroud’s teammate Tammy Abraham, Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Sparta Prague’s Adam Hlozek.
