Agent Reveals There Are Two Offers On The Table For £22m Rated West Ham Target

The agent of Alaves defender Guillermo Maripan has confirmed that his client has two offers to move away from the Spanish club.

The Chilean international was heavily linked with a switch to West Ham earlier this summer, but the centre-back’s €25m (£22m) release clause proved to be a stumbling block.

However, speaking out about Maripan’s future, his representative Marcelo Contreras said he is weighing up proposals from two different teams:

“Maripan joins his club’s preseason tomorrow. We have a couple of offers that we are evaluating.”

Contreras goes on to say that the Chilean would prefer to play for a team in the Champions League:

“We have two alternatives that seduce us a lot. We hope to go through them soon since we are looking for a club where he can play [in the] Champions [League].”

That would, of course, rule out West Ham and unless Alaves have opted to reduce their price tag, it isn’t likely that Maripan will be plying his trade at the London Stadium this season.

Following the expensive purchases of Sebastien Haller and Pablo Fornals, the Hammers will likely have to sell before they make any further additions to the squad this summer.
