‘A Shadow Of The Player We Had’ ‘Awful’ West Ham Fans On Social Media Frustrated With Playmaker’s Poor Display

West Ham attacking midfielder Manuel Lanzini put in another disappointing performance against Everton at the weekend.

The Argentinian international was replaced by Albian Ajeti after 84 minutes in the 1-1 draw and a lot of fans on Twitter think the playmaker should have been hauled off sooner:

Lanzini has suffered a series of serious injuries in recent years, with a knee injury last campaign followed by a dislocated shoulder this season. However, he has been fully fit for a while but his form has not picked up.

The 26-year-old has not scored a single goal this season, but he has made three assists in his 16 appearances for the Hammers. However, his last meaningful contribution came all the way back in early November, when he provided the cross for Roberto Snodgrass to score in the 3-2 defeat to Newcastle.

On Saturday, Lanzini was asked by manager David Moyes to support Sebastien Haller, in the absence of Felipe Anderson, but he failed to make any real impact on the game. Supporters are seemingly running out of patience with the Argentine.
