West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen looked well below his best in the 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at the weekend.
The 25-year-old has been in very poor form recently and many fans on Twitter couldn’t understand why manager David Moyes kept him on for the full 90 minutes:
I’ve been saying for more than a season now that if Bowen is not scoring or assisting, he goes missing in games. I’ve never rated him and think he’s gonna be a One Season Wonder…

Been horrendous all season

But he stayed on the pitch instead of Benrahma 😫

Cornet to replace him when back

And he plays the whole 90 🙂

Can’t see how he has any chance of Southgate selecting him on his current form

It does seem as if Moyes is keeping faith with Bowen regardless of how badly he performs. With Said Benrahma having scored an excellent opening goal, you can’t really explain why the Algerian was hauled off before his teammate.
Of course, there were plenty of poor performers against Palace but one of the main concerns is that Moyes is keeping certain players in the starting eleven despite the fact they have done nothing to justify their place.
With Maxwel Cornet nearing his return from a calf injury, it will be hoped that the Ivorian international is given the nod ahead of Bowen in upcoming fixtures.
