West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek could be back in the squad to face Arsenal tomorrow, according to manager David Moyes.
The Czech Republic international injured his hip in the 3-2 defeat to Liverpool and it was expected that he would miss a few weeks of action, but speaking at his pre-match press conference yesterday, Moyes confirmed that the 25-year-old has recovered quicker than expected:
“Tomas Soucek’s doing very well and he’s just about match-fit, very close to it now, so he’s recovered very quickly.”
Some fans on Twitter are now calling on Moyes to drop captain Mark Noble if Soucek is ready to start:
Soucek is a machine

Yes! drop Noble and put him in his place and we have a top side taking us into the remaining games.

Please don’t risk Soucek, when he’s ready he’s ready. We always rush players

Most likely Soucek will be named on the bench for the game at the Emirates. They will not want to rush him back and risk a reoccurrence of the same injury.
It will, though, be interesting to see who Moyes drops when the Czech star is fully fit. Pablo Fornals has been in impressive form, while Noble has been the midfielder who has been struggling the most in recent weeks.
