West Ham full-back Arthur Masuaku put in a stellar display as the Hammers thrashed Wolves 4-0 at the London Stadium last night.
The Democratic Republic of Congo international started the game as a wingback and the position suited his game to a tee. He provided the assist for Sebastien Haller’s goal in injury time but he was also excellent defensively, seeing off the challenge posed by Adama Traore.
Masuaku has been much-maligned for his inability to defend over the past few years but supporters were quick to praise the 26-year-old for his all-round display after the game:
He was superb. Looks reborn

Masuaku has been contender for Man of the Match both games he has played since returning to the starting line up for West Ham – barely out a foot wrong in either the Arsenal or Wolves games. Superb performance again.

not a fan, but tonight was the best game he's played for us, hopefully his consistency can go on now.

hope he remembered to take Traore and Semedo out of his pocket.

It was a surprising result and also a surprising performance from the left-back. He only got beaten once by Traore throughout the whole match, and he was constantly on top of his opposite number, whilst also being top drawer on the ball.
If he can replicate that sort of performance on a regular basis, Masuaku should have no concerns about his future at the club.
