West Ham only find themselves outside of the relegation zone on goal difference with nine games to go and a big reason for that is the sheer number of players who have failed to perform this season.
The Hammers came into the campaign with lofty ambitions of finishing in the European places but it became clear pretty early on that some star names were underperforming.
It was difficult to narrow the list down to just five players who have not performed to expected levels this campaign, considering how poorly the Hammers have played at times.

Many supporters are scratching their heads as to why the Argentine’s form has dropped off so sharply. Last season, he had the excuse of needing time after recovering from a serious knee injury.
However, he had full pre-season last summer, but he has flattered to deceive with no goals and just three assists in 19 league appearance.
The Brazilian looks like a pale shadow of the player who scored ten goals in all competitions last campaign.
Anderson has scored once in all competitions this season and the £36m the Irons paid for him in 2018 is now looking like a massive overspend.
The Paraguayan’s nickname ‘The General’ was meant to denote the defender’s authority and commanding presence, but the 28-year-old has looked anything but a leader at the back this season.
Balbuena started the 5-0 defeat to Manchester City on the opening day and was subsequently benched by Manuel Pellegrini. He has featured under David Moyes but he has been an unused substitute in the Hammers’ last eight league games.
A lot was expected of the Frenchman when West Ham shelled out a club record £45m on the player in the summer.
Although there have been flashes of inspiration from Haller, they have been few and far between, with his seven goals a poor return on the money the club have invested.
The Frenchman is really a winger rather than a left-back, and when he has been asked to play at the back, he has been left exposed.
As a consequence, Masuaku has only played 16 games this season, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he is offloaded in the summer.
